Springfield's Favorite Family Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: Unfortunately Not the Car You're Dreaming Of
It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole place where fans can experience the universe of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. However, if gamers will actually want to equip it is another question, as fans have their hearts set on just one Springfield car the community is eager to drive, and this isn't it.
What Fans Really Want
Although most gamers would undoubtedly love to face off behind the wheel of The Homer—the famously flawed automobile Homer designed himself in the 1991 installment "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what players are receiving. Not even getting the massive SUV, the heavy-duty truck showcased in season 10. Rather, players will obtain the Simpsons' standard beat-up four-door, which they've been driving since 1989. Even though this particular car has seen better days, it stands as an recognizable element of the show. And for players who analyze Rocket League car hitboxes, the trusty sedan uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

More Than Just a Car
But that's not the only cosmetic from the show coming to the game. This limited-time event will also include a set of challenges to unlock more rewards, all of which are Simpsons-themed. As detailed in a press release, the challenges will require participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's years on air, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to the Simpson house, and drive a distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"
While the full lineup of challenge rewards hasn't been disclosed, here is what's been announced up to this point:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
Based on promotional images is a reliable guide, it seems players will also get wheels with a TV displaying the show's title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and boost effects inspired by burning tires and Krusty Burger.
